I shy away from black shoes as I always feel they are too formal or serious, and I’ve found over the years that my customers tend to come to me for something different, a new colour or texture… But a classic is a classic, and the Watson certainly is a classic... I made five pairs 2 years ago and they flew off the shelf, so I feel it’s time to do a full size run this time. This calfskin is from a tannery I know well and where I found a soft, buttery black that I will start producing my bestsellers in. I've been wearing these guys in my shop and I have to say, I don't feel too formal or serious in them, so I was wrong. They are lovely and I shall start wearing more black shoes now...
