PHOS PHORO is a label started by my lovely friend, Spencer, probably around the same time I started my label. He lives in Australia and is as interested and knowledgable about cloth as I am with leather...! It's a breath of fresh air to meet a designer who really knows about cloth as much as they know about pattern cutting. I feel that they are few and far between nowadays. PHOS PHORO is a label that makes me exited about clothes again… So we decided to do some shoes together to sit next to his clothes. It wasn't hard to get it right, we are well aligned. This is what we came up with...
I love a white shoe and I love a worn-in white shoe... But I understand about not wanting to get white dirty and its maintenance etc., Making it in a brut, woven white added extra protection by the fact that the surface is now inconsistent, so it feels less precious. I hope this helps...
18mm hand-stacked leather sole. Hand-stitched sole, foldable. Piped in white calfskin and lined in calfskin. This is flat, woven leather by the length, then cut in one piece for each shoe. The woven is done by hand in a small factory next to my shoe factory in Italy.
FIT:
Narrow at first but giving. Long in the toe. pretty true to size..
