The Beaux Waxed Rose

The Beaux in waxed rose.... I love this shoe... It is an elegant clog. I think it was a hard sell to start with, as it’s not in keeping with current trends at all. I am hoping that it will grow on people. This is the second generation of this style in this leather. I loved this leather so much that I committed to a large order for me (the tannery's minimum of 20sqm). A french tannery from the South of France. I am planning a trip there to buy up their odd skins. This tannery works mainly with goat and does a lot of vegetal tanning. They really respect the natural, organic beauty of the skin, as well as the performance of leather. It has been my favorite tannery for the last 5 or so years. They really get excited about their articles and rightly so, they make excellent leathers…

The Beaux feels like a clog to walk in, which for some may take getting used to at first. The heel is 50mm (2 inches), but there is a 15mm platform, which makes the elevation feel more like a 35mm heel.

The white wax wears off in places over time, but can be replenished at most good cobblers if that is the effect you would like to keep. I like the wear that happens... The rose coloured leather gets warmer and darker and starts to really come through.

Again, like a clog, this style is short in the toe, but has volume. Voluminous rather than very wide (the sole is not especially wide). Roomy in the toes and width. The vamp line, which holds the shoe on the foot, is normal, so a narrow foot can comfortably wear this shoe as well. The toe is surprisingly short and your foot should come to the end of the shoe so, if you have long feet, a half size up may be necessary.
