The Triumphant in blue... So this is a very special shoe... This blue varies in light.. From a Klein to a royal to sometimes almost navy /indigo....What makes this shoe special though is the technique.  This is not a single strand flat weave style, which don't get me wrong is beautiful. I am a die hard fan of the old Kelian's from the 80's 90's with the brute weave molded over a narrow last, unlined, a throw on shoe.... Just looking at those made me want to go on holiday.......

This is a piece woven (a lot of the Kelian were also piece woven but in a more industrialised way which again is just whole different boat) left and right vary and each size is another pattern. It didn't help that I also wanted an asymmetrical line to fall across the vamp making this sandal/shoe look almost boot like from the inside.  But then the weave being done by hand meant the tension had to be that much more precise .... Nightmare ! On top of this the lengths of suede used to weave this shoe is double edge folded and there is an inlay of nylon thread running through the entire inside of the of the upper (completely invisible) making this shoe, although giving and mold-able over the foot, extremely durable and shape holding... This is necessary as it would be unlined suede and this is not possible with such fine strands... Toes will not wear down the edges .... The Triumphant is an understated piece of perfection....I will will stop now. Apologies.

FIT:
Slightly on the narrow with good length but really a very adaptable shoe (I really would not say this about many shoes....  Really takes the shape of the foot but adapts beautifully....
